Cats walk through life with an unmatched level of confidence   as if every chair, bed, or sunny windowsill was placed there just for them. They don’t ask for permission; they demand attention with a meow or a silent, judging stare. Whether it's knocking things off tables or sprawling across your laptop keyboard, cats have a way of making it clear  this is their world, and you're just living in it. Their independent nature, mixed with selective affection, makes them seem more like little royalty than pets. It's no wonder ancient Egyptians worshipped them   and honestly, cats haven't forgotten.

But why do cats behave this way  Some scientists suggest it's rooted in their evolutionary past. Unlike dogs, which were domesticated for cooperation, cats essentially tamed themselves   choosing to live alongside humans while keeping their wild instincts intact. That means they're not pack animals, and they don’t see us as “leaders.” Instead, they often treat humans as equals… or possibly as staff. From their aloof glances to their deliberate mischief, cats exude an unshakable sense of entitlement   and somehow, we keep feeding them, petting them, and letting them rule our homes.
